Google said "no policy violation": what now
When Google reviews a report and keeps the review, the Reviews Management Tool shows "Report reviewed - no policy violation". You get one appeal per review.

The one-time appeal
- Open the Reviews Management Tool and go to Appeal eligible reviews.
- Select the reviews to appeal: up to 10 at a time.
- Fill in the form and submit it. Google sends the result by email.
If the status changes to "Escalated - check your email for updates", the appeal is under further review (Report inappropriate reviews).
Make the appeal about a rule
Google removes only policy violations, so name the rule and show why the review breaks it, in one or two sentences per review:
- Not a real experience: say plainly what your records show, for example no booking or visit under that name on that date. Fake engagement covers content not based on a real experience.
- Conflict of interest: the reviewer is a competitor, a current or former employee, or family. Say who, and how you know.
- Off-topic or harassment: quote the part that is a rant, political commentary, a threat or personal information.
Disagreeing with a customer's account is not grounds: Google says it does not get involved in conflicts about facts between businesses and customers.
If the review stays
- Unlawful content such as defamation: file a legal removal request with the exact URL. It is a separate process from the policy report.
- Reply calmly and factually. Replies are checked before they go live, usually within 10 minutes, sometimes up to 30 days. The reviewer is notified and can edit the review (Read and reply to reviews).
- A wave of bad reviews plus a demand for payment is extortion: report it separately.
FAQ
How many reviews can I appeal?
Google's appeal flow takes up to 10 reviews at a time, and each eligible review can be appealed once.
Will reporting the same review again help?
Google's help describes one appeal after a "no policy violation" decision. A new report without a policy reason will not change the outcome.
Does a reply help?
Google notifies the reviewer when you reply, and the reviewer can then edit the review. Other customers see your reply.
