Practitioner profiles: doctors, lawyers, agents
Google allows profiles for individual practitioners in public-facing roles, such as doctors, dentists, lawyers, financial planners and insurance or real estate agents.
Not sure which rule you broke?
Start with the free suspension risk checker: answer 13 quick questions and get a risk score plus the Google rule and fix guide behind each point. Nothing is sent to us.
Or let a person do it: ProfileRescue checks your listing and website against each guideline, ranks the likely causes for your case and writes the appeal text plus an evidence checklist, in English and Spanish, as a PDF for €29 (launch price, €49 from 1 Dec 2026). We cannot reinstate profiles or remove reviews, and we say so plainly.
Who is eligible
- Public-facing practitioners with their own clients: doctors, dentists, lawyers, financial planners, insurance agents, real estate agents.
- Support staff should not have profiles.
- Sales associates and lead-generation agents are not eligible.
- One profile per practitioner: no separate profiles for each specialization.
Names
- Titles such as Dr., MD, JD, Esq. or CFA are allowed.
- Several practitioners at one location: the organization gets its own profile, and each practitioner's name leaves out the organization name.
- A solo practitioner under a brand shares one profile named "[brand]: [practitioner]", Google's example being "Allstate: Joe Miller".

Common reasons for removal or suspension
- Profiles for staff who do not see clients.
- Extra profiles for one person's specialisms.
- Practitioner names stuffed with the firm name or keywords (name keywords).
- Duplicate profiles for the same person (duplicates).
Google's duplicate profiles help lists individual practitioners at a shared location as eligible for their own profiles, so a practitioner profile next to the practice profile is not a duplicate.
