Video verification failed

Video verification often fails for practical reasons, not policy ones. Google is specific about what it wants in the recording, so you can plan the video shot by shot.

Or let a person do it: ProfileRescue checks your listing and website against each guideline, ranks the likely causes for your case and writes the appeal text plus an evidence checklist, in English and Spanish, as a PDF for €29 (launch price, €49 from 1 Dec 2026). The recording rules

From Google's Verify your business with a video recording:

What to show: storefront or hybrid business

  1. Where you are: the street, nearby businesses or landmarks, so the place can be matched to the map.
  2. Permanent signage that matches the business name on the profile.
  3. Proof you manage it: for example opening the cash register, the kitchen, the point-of-sale system or a staff-only area.

What to show: service-area business

  1. Street signs or landmarks near your base; for a home-based business, the neighbourhood.
  2. Your tools and equipment, branded clothing, or unlocking a branded vehicle.
  3. A permit, invoice or utility bill that matches the business name.

If it failed

A simple 45-second plan (storefront)

  1. 0–10 s: the street sign and the front of the building.
  2. 10–20 s: walk to the door with your business sign in frame.
  3. 20–35 s: unlock and go in, show the till, tools or workspace.
  4. 35–45 s: a document with the business name (cover personal details).

FAQ

How long does video verification take?

Google says the review can take up to 5 business days.

Can I edit the video or upload one from my computer?

No. Google requires one continuous, unedited recording, recorded and uploaded from a phone inside the Business Profile.

I have no sign. What now?

Google says that if you don't have permanent signage, you should consider listing as a service-area business.
