Your business is "not eligible" for a Business Profile
Eligibility is not about quality. Google has a short list of rules about who can have a profile at all, and most "not eligible" cases trace back to one of them.
Not sure which rule you broke?
Start with the free suspension risk checker: answer 13 quick questions and get a risk score plus the Google rule and fix guide behind each point. Nothing is sent to us.
Or let a person do it: ProfileRescue checks your listing and website against each guideline, ranks the likely causes for your case and writes the appeal text plus an evidence checklist, in English and Spanish, as a PDF for €29 (launch price, €49 from 1 Dec 2026). We cannot reinstate profiles or remove reviews, and we say so plainly.
Who is eligible
Google: "To qualify for a Business Profile, a business must make in-person contact with customers during its stated hours" (Business eligibility and ownership guidelines). Exceptions Google lists: ATMs, video-rental kiosks and express mail drop boxes (with contact info), seasonal businesses with year-round permanent signage, and delivery-only food services under conditions.
Who is not
Google's examples of ineligible businesses:
- Rental or for-sale properties such as vacation homes, model homes or vacant apartments (sales or leasing offices are eligible).
- An ongoing service, class or meeting at a location you don't own or have authority to represent.
- Lead generation agents or companies.
- Brands, organisations, artists and other online-only businesses.
- Businesses selling age-restricted products or services (like alcohol, cannabis or weapons) as service-area businesses without a storefront.
- Any business whose address is a P.O. box or a mailbox in a remote location.
What you can change
- Online-only shop: you need a place where customers meet you in person, or a service you deliver at the customer's location.
- Mailbox or virtual office address: use your real, staffed location, or set the profile up as a service-area business and hide the address.
- Lead-gen or referral site: the profile has to belong to the business that does the work. Google also says authorised representatives must never claim a profile without the owner's express consent.
- Classes or events at someone else's venue: list them on your own profile or website, not as a profile at that venue.
If your business clearly meets the rules and the profile was suspended for eligibility, the route is an appeal with evidence. Google's appeal page lists registration, licence, tax certificate and utility bills as evidence.
