Suspended for a virtual office or coworking address
Virtual offices are one of the few things Google names directly as ineligible. A coworking space can work, but only if it really works as your office.
Not sure which rule you broke?
Start with the free suspension risk checker: answer 13 quick questions and get a risk score plus the Google rule and fix guide behind each point. Nothing is sent to us.
Or let a person do it: ProfileRescue checks your listing and website against each guideline, ranks the likely causes for your case and writes the appeal text plus an evidence checklist, in English and Spanish, as a PDF for €29 (launch price, €49 from 1 Dec 2026). We cannot reinstate profiles or remove reviews, and we say so plainly.
What Google says
In the Guidelines for representing your business on Google, Google lists virtual offices as ineligible unless they are staffed during business hours. A coworking space is acceptable only when the business has permanent signage there, receives customers there during its stated hours, and has staff there during those hours.
Service-area businesses can't use a virtual office either, unless it is staffed during business hours.
Ask yourself honestly
- Is there a sign with your business name at the door or reception?
- Is someone from your business there during the hours on your profile?
- Do customers actually come there?
If the answer to any of these is no, the address does not meet the rule, and an appeal that only says "we rent this office" will likely fail.
Your options
- You visit customers: switch to a service-area business with the address hidden, using your real base (home is fine) and the areas you serve. Read service-area business rules.
- You really work from the coworking space: put up permanent signage, keep your hours staffed, and collect proof: the lease or membership in the business name, photos of the sign and your room, and a registration document at that address.
- You never meet customers in person: the guidelines say such businesses are not eligible for a Business Profile.
How to appeal once the cause is fixed
- Fix the cause on the profile first. Google says the name and address on your profile must match the name and address on your documents (Fix suspended or disabled profiles).
- Gather proof Google lists as examples: business registration, business licence, tax certificate, utility bill. Photos of permanent signage and of the premises help.
- Open the appeals tool from your profile. It shows the date, the reason, a link to the policy and whether the decision can be appealed.
- Submit once, carefully. Google says "Appeals can only be submitted once", and the evidence form has to be completed within 60 minutes of starting it.
- Do not create a new profile while you wait. Google tells owners not to.
Step-by-step wording: what to write in the appeal (template + evidence checklist).
FAQ
Is a Regus or WeWork address allowed?
Only if it meets Google's coworking conditions: permanent signage, customers received there during stated hours, and staff there during those hours. A mail-handling plan alone does not.
Can I keep the virtual office address hidden?
Google says service-area businesses can't use a virtual office unless it is staffed during business hours. Use your real base instead.
Should I open a new profile with another address?
No. Google tells owners not to create a new profile for a suspended business; fix and appeal the existing one.
