Your edit is pending or not approved
Every edit to a verified profile is reviewed. Most go through in minutes, but some types of change Google rejects by policy, and retrying them won't help.
Not sure which rule you broke?
Start with the free suspension risk checker: answer 13 quick questions and get a risk score plus the Google rule and fix guide behind each point. Nothing is sent to us.
Or let a person do it: ProfileRescue checks your listing and website against each guideline, ranks the likely causes for your case and writes the appeal text plus an evidence checklist, in English and Spanish, as a PDF for €29 (launch price, €49 from 1 Dec 2026). We cannot reinstate profiles or remove reviews, and we say so plainly.
Google's statuses and times
From Understand what happens to your Business Profile edits:
- Accepted: the new info is live.
- Pending: still under review. "This usually takes 10 minutes, but sometimes it takes up to 30 days."
- Not approved: "Google might not approve changes if it can't confirm its accuracy." Google says you "might be able to appeal rejected business information edits".
Edits Google rejects by policy
From Google's Business Profile policies:
- Identity change: Google "may reject some types of edits, such as significant changes to the business name or category". If a different business is now at the location, the old one should be marked permanently closed, not renamed.
- Location change for venues whose physical place is the experience (Google names dining, lodging and entertainment): mark the old profile permanently closed and create a new one at the new location. See moved to a new address.
- A wrong address on a business that has not moved: Google says "you must contact us".
- Edits on a suspended, disabled or unverified profile can be rejected until it is reinstated or verified.
What to do
- Wait out the normal window before resubmitting. Repeated edits to the name, address or category can trigger re-verification (verification help).
- Make sure the edit matches your sign, website and documents. Google rejects what it "can't confirm".
- If it is a name edit, check it against the name guidelines first.
- If it was rejected and you can prove it, appeal the rejected edit, or contact support with documents.
