Verification pending or stuck
Most stuck verifications are either still inside Google's stated review time, or were reset by an edit. Check both before you contact anyone.

Google's timings
From Verify your business on Google:
- After you complete verification, "verification reviews take up to 5 business days. On rare occasions, reviews may take longer."
- Postcards: "Most codes arrive within 14 days." Codes "expire after 30 days".
- Video recordings: the review can take up to 5 business days (Verify your business with a video recording).
- Edits to a verified profile: "usually take up to 10 minutes to review, but sometimes it can take up to 30 days" (Understand what happens to your Business Profile edits).
Things that reset or break it
- Editing the business name, address or category while a postcard is on its way. Google says that if you do, "the code we sent you won't work".
- Requesting a new code. Google says the code in the mail is then invalidated, which "can make the process longer".
- A phone line behind an IVR menu: Google says IVR systems won't get the code.
What the status means
- "Get verified" shows again: Google says this means it "couldn't completely verify your business". Try again, or another method if more than one is offered.
- "Review issues": your video wasn't accepted. See video verification failed.
- Asked for more info: Google says it's "likely because some of your business details were recently updated".
What to do
- Count the days against the timings above before doing anything.
- Don't edit the name, address or category while you wait.
- Make sure the profile meets the eligibility rules: in-person contact with customers during stated hours, and no P.O. box or remote mailbox address.
- Remember the method is chosen by Google and "can't be changed".
- If it is past the stated time, contact Google Business Profile support from the Help Center.
FAQ
How long does Google Business Profile verification take?
Google says verification reviews take up to 5 business days, and on rare occasions longer. Postcard codes usually arrive within 14 days.
Can I choose a different verification method?
No. Google says verification methods are automatically determined and can't be changed, though some profiles are offered more than one.
My postcard code doesn't work. Why?
Codes expire after 30 days, and Google says editing the name, address or category, or requesting a new code, makes the earlier code stop working.
