Respond

POST https://api.appstoreconnect.apple.com/v1/customerReviewResponses
Content-Type: application/json

{"data": {"type": "customerReviewResponses",
  "attributes": {"responseBody": "Thanks, Sam. 4.2.1 fixes the sync bug."},
  "relationships": {"review": {"data": {"type": "customerReviews", "id": "REVIEW_ID"}}}}}

Rules still apply

Responses via the API follow the same rules as App Store Connect: respectful, no personal information, spam or marketing (guideline 5.6.1, App Store Review Guidelines (5.6.1, 5.6.3, 5.6.4)). The reviewer is notified and can update their review (Apple Developer: Ratings, reviews, and responses).

Questions

How do I find unanswered App Store reviews with the API?

List customer reviews with exists[publishedResponse]=false.

Can an App Store review have more than one response?

No. A review has at most one response; posting again overwrites it.

How many reviews can I fetch per request?

The limit parameter accepts up to 200 for the list endpoint.

Why doesn't my response show yet?

Apple says responses don't appear instantly; the state stays PENDING_PUBLISH until it is published.
