Amazon negative review analysis

Reading 1–3★ reviews one by one tells you stories, not priorities. A useful analysis answers three questions: which reasons repeat, how serious they are, and whether the fix is in the listing or in the product.

A simple method

  1. Filter the product's reviews to "critical" (1–3★), most recent first, so you see current problems.
  2. Tag each review with a defect type: quality, size/fit, shipping damage, missing parts, not as described, durability, instructions, smell, battery, compatibility, value.
  3. Count the share of each reason and note how serious it is (annoyance vs returned/unusable).
  4. Ask for each one: would a clearer title, bullet, size chart or photo have prevented it? Those are cheap listing fixes. The rest go to your supplier as product, packaging or QC changes.

Listing fixes ("not as described", size, missing items, setup) can be done today. Product fixes need the next production run, so look at competitors' reviews before you reorder.
